Harmony, man over objects, connections with earth and people is optimal for everyone. The farther we are away from our roots the more likely we are to see issues manifest in the Black race. Optimal Psychology : Dr. Jarralynne Agee Peralta Community College Optimal Psychology Deep Roots Dr. Myers contended that our strong African heritage including Afrocentric concepts of self and community are derived from our deepest roots are natural, authentic and inseparable connection to our African roots. The father away you get from your roots the weaker your resolve as you are not close to your base or foundation of what is good. Think of the branches and limbs of the tree as where we currently operate with regards to modern day society. How we behave in relationships and family out on the limbs and not connected to our deep roots. Therefore it is not as solid or consistent. Since all people came from Africa, all people regardless of race can tap into their deep roots.
