DOH already has a program with its MDG for reproductive health and is well funded. Pop Com also has budget for implementation of family planning. Most of the consolidated bills are already covered by existing laws : RA 9261, RA 6725, RA 7192, RA 8505, RA 9710, RA 8504 Why need an RH Bill? Will this be used to force compliance and get funds for annual budget?

ARGUMENTS AGAINST THE RH BILL 4244 & SB 2378 De-population will not be the solution to our poverty. Europe & the U.S. are already below fertility rate but why are they under recession now? Well known economists find no correlation between population growth & poverty and say that human capital is the ultimate resource.

ARGUMENTS The bill will take away limited gov’t funds that can be used for high priority medical & food needs. Latest studies in medical journals show that contraceptive pills & IUDs are abortifacients therefore it kills human beings making the bill unconstitutional.

ARGUMENTS The pill confers several health risks like cancer, heart attack, strokes, pulmonary embolism and many more. It is never lawful even for the gravest reasons to do evil that good may come out of it. There is no law that prohibits people to contracept why use people’s money for personal practices that are objectively harmful and immoral.

ARGUMENTS It promotes sex education from grade 5 which Western World promoters themselves have considered having brought more teenage pregnancies and fatherless kids or single mothers. There is no informed choice as end users of the contraceptives are not told of their adverse effects.

Let us be honest and truthful in our disclosure to our patients. We have to inform them not only of the good but also of the adverse side effects of the contraceptives so that they can truly make an “informed choice” We promote “reproductive health” therefore we should not be contributory to the dangers brought about by the use of some contraceptives, like cancer, embolism, hypertension and death. We should also safeguard the life not only of the mother but also the life of the unborn child.
