Because horse slaughter itself is atrocious in it current state. Slide 11: With a thriving market for horse meat over sea’s people will always find a way to slaughter horses Slide 13: Bring horse slaughter back to the U.S. so that we can regulate it to make it more humane Slide 14: Lobby to place restrictions on the horses you can send to slaughter Slide 15: We can make sure that slaughter is the last resort for the horse not just the simplest Slide 16: We should treat our faithful companions with more dignity Slide 17: We owe it to these majestic animals to exhaust all options before slaughter becomes an option Slide 18: The only way to make sure this happens is to gain some control over the industry.
