Humans get affected but it seems as though the animals suffer even more. What we don’t like to admit, is that we contribute to the problem everyday of our lives. This presentation will provide information on how global warming affects the food, habitat, migration, and breeding of animals. IntroductionSlide 4: What is Global Warming?Slide 5: Global warming is when the earths atmosphere heats up. This due to the burning of fuels and energy, resulting in higher atmospheric concentrations of gases such as Carbon dioxide. This results in hotter summers, longer summers, higher sea levels, etc ………..Slide 6: What Happens to Their Food?Slide 7: …… Environmental changes cause plants to die out since they can’t easily adapt to different climates. Animals who live off of plants will starve and eventually die too. Milder winters cause food to spoil. Many animals are left without food and could die.Slide 8: Where Do They Live?: Droughts can cause elimination of habitats for animals such as geese, ducks, and other migratory animals. The climate changes, alters the hibernation of animals. This could mean life or death to them. ……..Slide 10: MigrationSlide 11: Seeking cooler temperatures, animals are migrating north or to higher elevations and then facing new challenges as they come into contact with new species. According to the study, spring events like blooming and breeding occur on average a week earlier than they did 60 years ago. The shift coincides with a 3 degree increase in temperature. ………Slide 12: How it Affects Animal BreedingSlide 13: Many animals and birds, including penguins or flamingos, travel long distances to warmer climates, for breeding . Devastation of the migratory routes and their habitat, has forced many of them to change migration or not migrate at all. This forces them to seek different migration habitats, where they have to compete for food and shelter with other migratory or animals and birds. The same is also happening for sea mammals, who prefer warmer waters for breeding . Animals that migrate depending on climate and the availability of seasonal foods, also suffer, when the environment around their migratory destination changes. This affects the newborn, and quite a few are now born with defects. …….Slide 14: Many of our daily activities encourage the global warming situation. We play the role of the victims of global warming, but in reality we have it real easy. The animals end up paying for the things that we do. Stop global warming and help save an animal’s life.
