What is a virtual field trip? : 

What is a virtual field trip? Collection of websites, images, video clips & other forms of digital media that enhance student learning by enabling them to experience a place or time period without actually being there Can engage students and expose them to many learning opportunities Not a substitute for the traditional field trip they can be a valuable supplement

Why Virtual field trips? : 

Why Virtual field trips? Virtual field trips can teach a concept or topic that's difficult to study in the classroom or the library Something that's dry and abstract in the classroom might prove lively and concrete on-site Geography or earth science Literature A visit to the House of Seven Gables or Thoreau's Walden Pond or Shakespeare's Globe Theatre History Follow Lewis and Clark along their journey across the new continent, or tour the battlefield at Gettysburg

Continued Music Follow Mozart's career across the cities of Europe, or enter a museum of musical instruments Mathematics Visit the Greenwich Observatory in England to lean about the mathematics of determining longitude Art The Louvre, the Metropolitan or the MFA might contain some resources to help learn the history of art
