Surfing the Internet. Surfing is when you are searching for websites on the internet.
NEVER click advertisements!
Get your parents okay before you visit a website to make sure it’s an okay website to use.
If you come across something that makes you feel uncomfortable, exit the website and tell your parents.
Chatting :
Chatting Chatting is when you’re talking to people on the internet.
Remember to be kind.
NEVER give away personal information, such as your address, your full name, your parents name, your phone number, and your Email.
If you have a Facebook or a MySpace, instead of using your real picture, use your pets picture or another picture that won’t give away who you really are.
It’s okay to give away information like your hobbies, sports, favorite food, stuff you like to do when your bored, things like that.
SPAM :
SPAM SPAM is Email from someone you don’t know (never open spam).
Don’t ever open an attachment in your Email from someone you don’t know.
If you receive SPAM you should tell your parents.
If you are getting SPAM a lot, tell your parents to set up a junk folder in your Email so it all goes there.
SPAM can give your computer a bad virus and make it crash, so stay away.
Netiquette :
Netiquette Netiquette is being nice on the internet.
Never use capital letters, it means your yelling.
Emoticons are little smiley faces to show you like someone.
If you’re not sure what the emoticon means, tilt your head to the left; the colon is the eyes and a dash or a parenthesis is the mouth. : )
