The story :

The story

Slide 22:

Investigators with the CHP spent all day carefully combing the 600-foot accident scene and measured the 300 feet of skid marks. The front tire landed ½ mile away after impact. Clark Wright and Sarah Streicher were friends whose hopes for the future were bright. The two attended the same Castro Valley High School where Wright had just graduated, and Streicher had dreams of teaching history after earning her diploma.

Slide 23:

The driver, 18 year old Clark Wright and passenger 17-year-old Sarah Streicher died at the scene. Streicher would have been a senior at Castro Valley High School, Wright just graduated in June. Their lives came to a tragic and early end Tuesday when the corvette that Wright was driving crashed into a power pole and flipped over shortly after witnessing saw the car racing a BMW on the street, authorities said.

Slide 24:

Wright 18, who was driving the 1997 corvette, and Streicher 17, were pronounced dead at the scene. Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash citing 300 feet of skid marks and 100 feet of damaged fence along the Dublin canyon road. CHP officer Steve Creel said there was no evidence that either drugs or alcohol were involved. The crash is a grim reminder of the hazards of driving too fast and dangers of street racing.
