Making food that´s compact,light and tasty,it´s assignment for itself. Alexander Huber,one of the best climbers in the world, pushes himself to the limits. He shows us what he can do on 2000m high cliff in the eastern Alps. Huber has climbed cliffs all over the world, including Himalayas. Slide 3: Even climbing is hard,there are many other problems like being out off food for weeks. He eats meal from bags,it doesn´t weight much,it´s perfect for the job. Huber wants light weight food,that´s hard to find in a supermarket. Slide 4: But this special food company makes light weight,high tech food by freezing dry ingredients. the ingredients for their products come directly from the farm and they are shock frozen immediatly after harvest. Unlike an ordinary domestic freezer,this process produces very small ice crystals that do not destroy all the structure of the food. … : … Then the vacuum is created and the thiny ice crystals in the cells are immediatly evaporized This is the way how the food retains it´s vitamines Once the ingredients are mixed together the meal is ready Slide 6: Each meal weights 180 grams which is good if you know how much a plate of fresh spagetti weights. 180 grams is enough for peak sport performance. Food scientist is comparing both meals for it´s food value,vitamins and energy. Fresh food is better,but the difference between it and the dry food is minimal (says Gerhard Scheller-food chemist).
