Do you want to pay 50 000 € for a Sony TV set? That is OLED monitor. It is only 3 milimeters thick. OLED is ultimate display technology which uses low energy. OLED monitors are very different. OLED monitors Image quality : Image quality on OLED monitors is not worse than image quality on some other monitor. Pixels are more sharp and color has more contrast. I’m sure that you have problems to see picture on your mobile phone at high angle. OLED monitor does not have this problem such as CRT monitors, but CRT monitors are „a bit bigger”. Image quality How does it work? : OLED display is made using special polymers. Today, it is still being made by handmaking. After a polymer is central fused they use vaccum deposite technic in sterile room. The main problem is the price of this polymer. How does it work? Special polymer : Polymer is between cathode and anode. Cathode and anode are transparent. Polymer will light up when electicity flows through cathode and anode. It’s not very much energy needed for polymer to light up. Special polymer Brightnes : In this experiment the light is only red, but there are many possibilities. Color brightnes will increase when we give it more energy. OLED wallpaper needs to be tested. Brightnes OLED is thin : OLED is completely new source of light and it is very thin. A lot of new lighting objects will be made. Researches say that OLED has glowing future. OLED is thin Battery life : Mobile phones, digital cameras and video cameras will use OLED displays in the future. Battery life will increase surely. Some mobile phones already have OLED display. Battery life Go 3D : OLED wallpapers can be transparent. So my idea is to make a 3d display cube using a lot of OLED wallpapers. However, there are many possibilities to make it. Go 3D Flexible display : OLED wallpapers are flexible so they can be used in any environment. Flexible thiny switches are integrated on it. Picture is shown in low latency. It can be used anywhere. Flexible display Thiny devices : Which type of monitor do you have: TFT, LCD or CRT? Imagine a notebook PC with thiny display, thiny TV set, thiny mobile phone, thiny digital camera, thiny photo frame, etc. Thiny devices Slide 13: Click here to watch on Youtube Questions : What does OLED mean? Which type of monitor do you have? How much energy is needed for OLED display to light up? Do you want to have an OLED monitor? Sony has introduced OLED. What do you think about them?
