Dictionary simultaneously – istovremeno concentrate – koncentrirati se possibility – mogućnost, sposobnost braker – kočnica cause – izazvati accident – nesreća stear – skretati passenger – putnik handle – upravljati, kontrolirati performed – izvesti, provesti

Multitasking : 

Multitasking Multitasking is possibility to do several tasks at the same time. Example: driving your car while you’re talking on the phone, or listening to radio while you’re reading your e-mail messages. Human brain can concentrate at few things at the same time.

Do you multitask? : 

Do you multitask? Today, it is impossible to live without multitasking. That’s called modern life. This presentation will help you to understand how far we can go.

Smart test : 

Smart test Scientists have made a test. They have used virtual car for testing. It looks very real. Wheel, brakers and accelerator in front of big screen. A person had to drive it and search for something in personal handbag.

That’s dangerous : 

That’s dangerous Tuning radio while driving is dangerous too because you can not contencrate on driving fully. Lot of people are talking on the mobile phone while driving and it causes a lot of car accidents. Most of accidents are caused by multitasking.

Be concentrated on main task : 

Be concentrated on main task Stefan Mattes says that main task is to drive the car. Driving straight or stear, accelerating and braking. Aditional task is blinking, or something similar. Talking with the passengers is not needed. All this makes complicated situtation.

Gaming? : 

Gaming? You multitask very much even you don’t know that you are doing it. While you play a pc game you’re moving your player and handling the mouse. Playing piano is good example. You must learn to multitask with both hands.

Office job : 

Office job Employer expects workers to multitask. That takes a lot of stress in economy. In office, workers are answering phone calls, answering questions to other workers and reading e-mails.

Testing human multitasking : 

Testing human multitasking Another test will be performed. A person has a camera in front of it’s eye. If that person hear a sound from left side, she has to look at the left point on the monitor and press a key with left hand. Sound from the right side means to look at the right point on the monitor and press a key with the right hand.

Concentration : 

Concentration Pressing the keys and looking were not simultaneously. Actions were performed one by one. There are too many things to concentrate on while driving.

Completing tasks : 

Completing tasks You can complete your tasks faster if you are doing them one by one, not all at once because of concentration. If you have too much information around you, you will not be able to concentrate on any of them if you’re trying to concentrate at all.

Multitasking?No problem! : 

Multitasking?No problem! Personal computer is a great multitasker. It can handle a lot of tasks depending on central processor unit speed. Amount of tasks deepends on random access memory. That’s same with people.

Grammar : 

Grammar Present simple: Stefan Mattes says that main task is to drive the car. Employer expects workers to multitask. The modal verb „can”: It can handle a lot of tasks. Past simple: Actions was performed one by one. Present continous: Lot of people are talking on the mobile phone while driving.

Questions : 

Questions Do you multitask? Does multitasking cause car accidents? Would you like scientists to perform a multitasking experiment on you? Does the time to finish your tasks incrase if you’re doing a lot of tasks simultaneously, not one by one?
