They are also well known like typhoons. Augustin Jansa : Augustin Jansa Augustin Jansa is head of La Palma weather station. Also he is a meterologist who knows how hurricanes can be dangerous. He met with destruction force of hurricane, for the first time, 20 years ago. Clemente Ramiz : Clemente Ramiz Clemente Ramiz works in Palma de Malorca university He had an experience with one big hurricane on 02.October1986. He said that he and his colleagues didn’t have enough time to warn people in area which was in danger. That’s why they decided to learn more about hurricanes. Hurricanes in Mediteranean : Hurricanes in Mediteranean Hurricanes in Mediteranean are usually smaller and weaker than hurricanes that are formed in tropical and subtropical areas. Water temperature in Mediteranean has been rising for 1 °C in last 25 years and is still rising. Rising water temperature increases risk of hurricanes. Miguel Gartner and new technology : Miguel Gartner and new technology Miguel Gartner works at the university of Toledo. He uses computers to simulate how hurricanes will look like in future. Also he cooperates with meterologists in Hamburg. He says that storms in future will be even stronger than storm in La Palma in 2007 when six tornados hit that area.
