When you are known by just one name you’ve made it to a status of mega star.Like Bono.Frontman from Irish rock band U2.Except his music he is also known for his glasses and his commitment to social causes.He keeps his personal life very private,but has been happily married for 28 years.He met his wife Ally at the same school where he met other members of the band.

U2 was filming the video for their latest album “No line on the horizon”.It’s the Irish bend’s twelfth studio album.And it’s unlike it’s their last.Bono says that they had in mind a positive image with no limits.

U2 was started by 4 Dublin school friends back in 1976.The band’s break through came 7 years later,when their album “War” hit the tops of British charts.Fame followed quickly.Next hit “Pride” came in 1984.

U2 stormed the global charts.7 of their albums reached number one in United States.3 made it to the top in Germany.But their superstar status has mainly been showed through their live performances.Shortly after the fall of the wall the they performed in Berlin and had east German’s cars on stage.

Bono:”…they don’t want to just come and see any old U2 show.It’s got to be like a roller-coaster ride.” Bono is using his fame to mobilize the public.Like concert on July 2nd 2005,Live Aid benefit in London.The song “One” was Bono’s vision of united world.

For decades the Dublin born musician is trying to help in crises and developing countries.He has campaigns for tougher measures to tackle AIDS,feminism and poverty in Africa.

Bono has received several prizes for his social campaignes including the 2006 German media prize.He’s even been nominated fo Nobel peace prize.U2 sold over a hundred and forty million records world wide.Bono is the only person who was nominated for Oscar,a Grammy,a Golden globe and a Nobel prize.
