Bassetts History : 

Bassetts History Since 1861, the Bassett family has made one of the world's finest super premium ice creams.  Starting in the backyard of his Salem, New Jersey farm with a mule-turned ice cream churn, Lewis Dubois Bassett, began a tradition with his ice cream. In 1893, Lewis Dubois Bassett moved production of his ice cream to the newly built Reading Terminal Market, located in Philadelphia, PA. At the same time he also opened a retail store. The store that he opened is still in the same location in the Reading Terminal with the original marble counters and is still owned and operated by Lewis Dubois’ great-great grandsons Michael Strange and Roger Bassett. The Reading Terminal is where recently President Obama visited for a cheesesteak and tried one of Bassetts popular flavor, Chocolate Mint Ice Cream.

The Flavors Gadzooks - Bassetts decadent chocolate ice cream with pieces of Brownie Points peanut butter brownies, chocolate chunks and a rich caramel swirl. Bassetts classic vanilla ice cream with pieces of Brownie Points peanut butter brownies, chocolate chunks and a rich caramel swirl. It's a classic twist on the original Gadzooks! Raspberry Truffle - Just the words of raspberries and truffles together will awaken your tastes buds.  Rich vanilla ice cream is swirled with raspberry sauce and mixed with raspberry filled chocolate truffles.

The Flavors Rum Raisin — Our most adult flavor. Plump juicy raisins are soaked in rum and then added to our world famous vanilla ice cream for a seductive taste. Cherry Vanilla - This popular ice cream is made with natural cherry juice and plump Northwestern black cherries for a marvelously rich and delicious treat. Mint Chocolate Chip - Semi-sweet chocolate chips are added to this wonderfully rich mint ice cream.
