Participants should: transfer the ideas contained within the session for structuring and organising the learning objectives into their own schemes and plans start to develop a curriculum map for Year 7 in school with their departmentsStarting points: Starting points Secondary curriculum review ‘big picture’ New programmes of study Amended level descriptions Yearly learning objectives in the renewed ICT Framework Existing schemes of work and unit plans Familiarisation: Familiarisation Reconsider the department’s vision for ICT within the context of whole-school developments Become familiar with the new National Curriculum PoS for ICT and their key messages Become familiar with the yearly learning objectives from the renewed ICT Framework FamiliarisationReview: Review ICT sample teaching units Locally developed units Review current scheme of work and existing unit plans Identify learning objectives that are missing Identify learning objectives that need strengthening ReviewGaps in existing scheme(School A): Gaps in existing scheme (School A) Acknowledging sources Saving files and folder structure Using databases in everyday life Appropriate use of ICT tools (continued)Gaps in existing scheme(School A) (cont.): Gaps in existing scheme (School A) (cont.)
