Before COMHAR’s Blue Mountain LTSR The first eight individuals to move into our residence spent a combined total of 272 years of their lives in Allentown State Hospital.

Welcome to Our Home. . . Opened in December 2010, the long term structured residence (LTSR) supports eight individuals that are re-integrating back into community living.

Kimberly : 

Kimberly Although not an early riser by nature, Kim is always excited to get up, prepare her own lunch, and go to Associated Production Services (APS), to work for the day. Kim enjoys the socialization, sense of purpose, and paycheck which enable her to be a vital part of the working world.

Thomas: 

Thomas Thomas’ creative flair and exuberance for life have taken him to the Baum School of Art for drawing classes. Thomas is also in the process of creating his own magazine to showcase his talents and unique artistic vision.

: 

Volunteering and giving back to the community are essential elements for one of our residents. Never one to miss the opportunity to deliver meals, he often reports to his peer group who he has delivered to during that day and what they will be eating.

The first individual in recovery to graduate. . Her gentle nature and love of all things holistic brought joy to the house. Having successfully met her goals, she was the first graduate of COMHAR’s Blue Mountain LTSR program.

Blanche: 

Blanche Blanche was our resident Skip-Bo champ, happy to take on any new opponent. Blanche was very social, always the first one to agree to take an active role in the community. Blanche brought much joy to the nursing home where she volunteered teaching Skip-Bo. Blanche successfully reached her goals and graduated from COMHAR’s Blue Mountain LTSR program in December.

Outreach Program: 

Outreach Program Although they are taking a break from LTSR living, our resident’s well-being and happiness is paramount. We continue to provide outreach and support to those who have previously lived in our community with the hope that they will be ready to return soon.
