Slide 4:16th of July `09


Slide 5:The day had finally arrived… The Famous Five – Ani, Ash, Raj, Rai, and Sri are all set to the trip we had waited this long. Ani Aka Anish Ash Aka Ashish Raj Aka Rajesh Rai Aka Rajesh Sri Aka Sreejith


Slide 6:We joined Sri in the train (GARIB RATH)– Pichakaars ?… he he The train was that slow, that we could have reached Sabarimala by walk, b4 it could reach…. He he.. Just kidding..,


Slide 7:We boarded the train… met Sri, after a quite a long time. Its his bday… “Happy Bday Sri “ ?


Slide 8:We met a old couple, just so sweet that they even thought we were just like the friends of their son ? Felt home.. he he Just finished a very good dinner… chappathi ? ufff.. so many… Rai started hating it he he..,


Slide 9:Train chugged along its way as we slept to open our eyes for a “New day in PARADISE – GOD’s OWN COUNTRY – Kerala” Its indeed a paradise… Greens filled everywhere… Such a lovely place As we sit inside a cold cabin of Garib Rath “D15”… We see the entire Kerala in water… as its raining..


Slide 10:17th of July `09


Slide 11:Itz xactly 9am Its a pleasant weather outside though it was raining heavily earlier. Aftr a long wait, had tea Left Ernakulam town Now relaxing after a fat breakfast


Slide 12:Chengannur @ 11:30am Pathanamthitta at 1.15pm.

Slide 14:Finally we step on the wet soil of Pampa at 4:15pm with a bad news of a young boy missin in the strong flowing waters of Pampa filling our ears. We all hope that he would come back. As said life must go on, we had a slight dip in Pampa with each Rai and Raj helpin the other. We started our journey by walk to reach the SACRED TEMPLE .


Slide 15:Reached at 5:45pm and then with the sacred words fillin our hearts we climbed the 18 gold plated sacrosanctum steps. Finished darshan by 6.15pm !!!!!!!that too 3 times


Slide 16:Well the tea tasted from outside the main temple was the best so far Then we booked a dormitory at Ayyappa Seva Samithi to spend that night Bought prasadam and went back to samithi Raj,Rai and Sri took an awesome bath in basmakulam(shark attack) He Heeeeeeeee!!!!


Slide 17:Had dinner by 8.30 which was provided at the Samithi.We had 2 rounds of rice which was different and better than the normal plain rice,along with sambar followed by payasam. Went 2 take the tickets for abishekam and we had darshan one more time!!!!!!! Slept by 9:45pm .


Slide 18:18th of July `09


Slide 19:Wokeup by 2 and took bath in cold water.This time in the bathroom though as it was raining heavily outside. Inspite of getting up so early we could endup only second in the abishekam queue


Slide 20:Well we were lucky enough to stand on the stairs and could seat ourselves on the steps and it was durin this time when we tasted Chuk Kaapi(not tasty at all). We were done with abishekam by 5:10am and we got another darshan before goin back to samithi


Slide 21:Then it was time to bid good bye to the sacred place but with the presence of Lord Ayyappa in our hearts.Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa. The way back to Pampa was tougher than the journey upwards as we could take only smaller steps on the slippery and sharp stones.


Slide 22:At exactly 8:15am we touched down Pampa and had kerala porotta and spicy kadla curry which was our filler for the day untill our dinner at Guruvayur. Dipped our legs in pampa river and got into the bus to pathanamthitta by 8:50am


Slide 23:Then…


Slide 25:It started raining as we reached chengannur and this was the first time when Sree used his umbrella. We had lemon soda from a shop near to the station where we usually have and the old man there was missin in the shop.That meant the taste was equally missin. At last the train came and we secured a seat on the top Played 20 questions till we reached Trissur. The answers were Lohithadas, E.Sreedharan, Richardbranson, Prabhakaran, Alphonsamma, Oprah Winfrey, Zoozoo, Orkut


Slide 26:As soon as we got down in Thrissur we got a bus to Guruvayur, but Ash,Raj and Sri didn get a seat We could reach Guruvayur only by 8pm, thanks to Kerala roads,blocks and rain.When I say this I need to mention the pathetic drain system of Kerala.The main roads were flooded to a level that covers the tyre of a Kerala transport bus. Inspite of that we got darshan by 8:55pm.


Slide 27:Went and had dinner,found a place to sit in auditorium where dance program was going on. Ash & Raj managed to get a newspaper, which along with our used mundus and raincoat became our bed for the night.Well that was not all Sree's bed sheet gave us a cushion effect on that hard surface.


Slide 28:19th of July `09


Slide 29:Woke up by 1.30 am took bath in temple pond and stood in the long queue When we reached nada we met two types of VIPs.Well you can define them as an important and an unimportant VIP.The former was our diety known as “Unni Kannan beautifully decorated with chandanam and the latter one was “Suresh Gopi,our pulle hero”


Slide 30:. After the darshan which got over at 4:15am we sat for a while, had tea and then all went for attempts, it was better than vtu results because all got fcd's !!!! :-) Cheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Came out and had breakfast in same hotel (dosa and UZHUNNU VADA) Got in to a bus to tcr, all slept in bus untill the conductor woke us up.


Slide 31:When started walking towards railway station it started raining, we stood in a shop shelter… There anish got to meet his first love of life. He invited ani to do some kind of legalised activity on that rainy day. Unfortunately ani was in no mood and declined the offer.Hmmm may be he prefers a sunny day....But there was a sense of happines in his eyes with the offer letter in his hand.Congrats for that bro...


Slide 32:Then we had tea in a teashop and started moving towards station,reached station by 8.45 Another exception where we were early.We all waited in the waiting room charging our cell phones and also the time to put down our pen and calculate each one's share and who owes how much to whom. Well could anyone believe that all this happened with not a single thing fallin short for just 2500 Rs.


Slide 33:The train moved at 11:05am and from then on it was killing time.We played Sets,Police-Robber and the rest of the time tastin all the stuffd that was there in the pantry. Right from tea-coffee to veg-biryani others in the train would have called us Aarthipandaarams. Everythin that starts has to end and in the same way everthing that starts well,ends well.Everyone of us cherish each moment spent.Even the pain on our legs were soo special that we enjoyed it. Bangalore is hardly hours and its time to disperse with that working and monday blues in mind knowin that this time may never return but with a belief that we will meet again next year. Back to our boring lives ?
