Welcome! :Welcome! Today we will learn how to use keys on a keyboard to type letters.

The keyboard we use in the US is called the QWERTY because of the first six letters that are on the top left of the keyboard. People who are good typist, don’t look at the keyboard when they type, they look at the monitor.

The home row :The home row The home row is the middle row of letters and it has two touch keys. Find the touch keys.

F is the touch key for the left side.
J is the touch key for the right side.

First place your pinky finger on the A button.
Then put the next finger on the s button, then another finger on the d button and the last finger on the f button.
Your thumb should be on the space bar.
