Summary :
Summary In book two, chapter 5, Syme vanishes just as Winston had predicted. The town prepares for “Hate Week”, and for the celebration, Parson's children sing a new song called “Hate Song”. The room above Mr. Charrington's shop keeps on running through Winston's mind. Knowing that he cannot go up there and see whats in it makes him more and more curious. Which ultimately results in his obsession with the room. Corrupt thoughts fill Winston's head as he wishes that Katherine would die so that he can marry Julia. Winston even dreams about changing his identity to become a Prole. Julia tells Winston her theory on how she believes that party enemies are party inventions. Winston gets mad at Julia for her stupid theory. Winston and Julia sleep together multiple times.
