Check out these amazing facts about Holland America and acquaint yourself with more knowledge before going on a cruise: Holland America Cruise is a fully owned America Cruise line headquartered in Seattle United States. Initially in 1873 to 1989 the cruise operated under a Dutch Shipping Line as a passenger and cargo line sailing across the Netherlands and North America. In those years the cruise line had played a major role in transporting thousands of emigrants between the two countries. In 1989 Carnival shop acquired Holland America thereby operating its services under America. The program-Signature of Excellence was launched in 2003 a program to upgrade the existing ships. The program upgraded the ships with specialty restaurants like-Pinnacle Grill suite guests’ like- the Neptune Lounge Culinary Arts Center store-room facilities kid zones and improved dining centers. Holland American Cruises comprise a total of 3 ships fully operated by Thompson Cruises. Holland America Cruise Line currently has five different classes of ships the smaller vessels the older S vessels the newer and larger R vessels The Signature Class The Vista Class and the newest and the largest- Pinnacle Class. Each of the cruise ships have a white superstructure with a dark blue hull with the company’s logo along the smoke tracts.

The four Vista-class ships of Holland America have been named after the points of the Dutch compass namely Oost of the East Zuid for south West for west and Noord for north. All the vista class ships were built to provide its passengers with shorter trips across Europe Alaska and the Caribbean. In 2006 Kunoi Switzerland awarded the Vista-class ships for maintaining outstanding environmental standards- 2006 Green Planet Awards.
