Available for computers, iPods and iPads. Used for students beginning to learn English, Struggling Readers, Special Education Students, Preschool children and Afterschool programs. Main curriculum of Literacy, Vocabulary Development, and Listening and Speaking .Literacy: Literacy Literacy focuses on improving reading skills and ability to break words down phonetically . Increase readers ability to recognize words. Helps new language learners to become more fluent as they repeat words and read along as the computer r eads aloud.Vocabulary Development: Vocabulary Development Increase vocabulary by use of new words both academic and common words. Use of games to help students learn definitions. Games create repetition of word, and use them in different contexts.Listening and Speaking: Listening and Speaking Use of songs to expand language Use of common English songs to help new language learners or English as a second language students. These common songs help to students to expand vocabulary as well as use in conversation. Use of common conversation phrases in videos helps to improve students conversation skills.How it Works: How it Works Students login to program through each students individually assigned icon picture. After they login they start their program: which varies in length most commonly 25-30 minutes long. During this program they read stories, learn new vocabulary words and proper grammar through a series of games, songs and pictures intended on increasing language skills. I work for CVESD at two different schools each day, one class is a 4 th -6 th grade, mild to moderate, special education class and the other is a preschool class, and we use the program at both schools. In the special education class it is to improve the students understanding of English and to get them up to class level in reading and language. In the preschool class it is to help beginning English learners and ESL students.
