Equipment Sterile Swabs Sterile Distilled Water TSA Plates Permanent Markers

TSA Plate Preparation : 

TSA Plate Preparation

SWAB #1: Basic Procedure : 

SWAB #1: Basic Procedure Massage Therapists wash hands—dry thoroughly. Swab hands with moistened swab-- “8 point method”

SWAB #1 cont. : 

SWAB #1 cont. Inoculate 1/3 of TSA plate labeled BMH (Before Massage with Hand washing)

Ahhhh… MASSAGE : 

Ahhhh… MASSAGE

SWAB #2 : 

SWAB #2 Immediately following the massage (before hand washing)—swab hands using “8 point method” Inoculate 1/3 plate labeled AM (After Massage)

SWAB #3 : 

SWAB #3 Therapists wash hands thoroughly—swab hands (“8point method”) Inoculate 1/3 plate labeled AMH (After Massage Hand washing)

INCUBATE : 

INCUBATE TSA Plates are incubated for 24 hours. 37 degrees Celsius
