Premium member Presentation Transcript Intercollegiate athletics Recruiting process: Intercollegiate athletics Recruiting process AllAmericanSportsRecruiting.comThe Recruitment Process: The Recruitment Process College coaches collect prospect referrals from professional scouts, high school coaches, recruiting services and coaching friends, usually a couple of years a head of time. Early identification during sophomore year is needed. The sooner they know about you, the sooner they can evaluate you! AllAmericanSportsRecruiting.comThe Recruitment Process: The Recruitment Process Coaches evaluate the prospects talent level through video, scout evaluations, game evaluations, camps (NCAA Legal Tryouts) and tryouts. 90% of evaluations are now done through TRYOUT VIDEOS ! Need a highlight/skills or game video! DSV access through high school head coach. Take some blank DVD’s to your coach to burn your games. Usually faster if you edit and create your own videos or have someone help you. Some sports have Jr. Day or Sr. Mini-Camps (1 Day Only) Not invited to Jr. Day??? Make your own Jr. Day. Go visit!!! The best scholarship offers are made during the Spring of the Junior year! If you don’t have a scholarship offer by this time, then college coaches don’t know about you or don’t think you can play at their level. Sr. Mini-Camps – Do they know who you are beforehand? Always be first in line for drills. The coach will notice you! AllAmericanSportsRecruiting.comThe Recruitment Process: The Recruitment Process Coaches are highly interested in the student-athletes that they call each week and send mail to them. Coaches may offer a verbal scholarship, invited walk-on or redshirt opportunity. Coaches have a list of several prospects they recruit for the same position. AllAmericanSportsRecruiting.comThe Recruitment Process: The Recruitment Process Coaches usually make the same offer to other student-athletes in case their first choice does not accept. Coaches send out a Letter of Intent and/or Scholarship offer for the Early Signing Dates or Regular Signing Dates. AllAmericanSportsRecruiting.comThe Recruitment Process: The Recruitment Process Student-athletes have 14 calendar days to sign and return the Letter of Intent and/or Scholarship. In some cases, a coach may re-issue the same Letter of Intent and/or Scholarship. Usually, a coach will move on to the next student-athlete on their list.
