Clint Robinson Northwest Arkansas Naturals :

Clint Robinson Northwest Arkansas Naturals Drafted by the Royals in the 25th round, 2007 First Year Player Draft. Spent 2007 w/Idaho Falls of the Pioneer League, earning Pioneer League MVP, Postseason All-Star, & Idaho Falls Player of the Year. After a productive 2008 in Class A with Burlington, and finishing second for the Carolina League batting title with the High A Wilmington club in 2009, Clint has made his way up to the AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals. Royals 2009 Mike Sweeney Award Winner. Currently leads AA Naturals in runs (18) and walks (18). 2nd on team in OBP (.407) and in home runs (3). Top 5 on team in Avg. (.281), RBIs (10), Hits (25), SLG (.461), and OPS (.868). The need for Clint Robinson in AAA With Kila Ka’aihue moving up to Kansas City, the AAA Omaha Royals are now without a first basemen. Despite splitting some time at first base this season, Robinson has managed to compete for Texas League lead in several batting categories. He is currently 2nd in the league in runs and walks, and also is in the top ten for hits, OBP, and OPS. Amongst batters who have more than 30 at bats, Robinson would be leading AAA Omaha in runs, total bases, walks, OBP, SLG, and OPS. Even if you look past Omaha’s lack of first basemen on their roster, they are still in need of a player like Clint Robinson. So far in 2010, Omaha is ranked in the bottom half of the Pacific Coast League in runs, total bases, walks, OBP, SLG, and OPS; all categories that Robinson would be leading in at AAA Omaha. Bringing Clint up to AAA Omaha would help add needed stability in several weak batting areas. When you look at Omaha’s hole at first base, combined with their needs at the plate, Robinson would be a perfect fit. Additionally, as evidenced by the 2009 Mike Sweeney Award, Clint is a person that represents the Royals organization in a positive way both on and off the field, and is the type of high character player the Royals should want to see progressing through their organization Stats as of May 5, 2010
