How to greet & ATTEND visitors ? . : 

How to greet & ATTEND visitors ? . As soon as a reader enters the Library, one needs to “Welcome” the “Reader” with a Smile. Then say “Good Morning” / “Good Afternoon” / “Good Evening” The visitor may ask, “What place is this?” With a lovely smile on your face tell him / her, ‘that it’s a FREE Health Library for People’. cont…

…..cont! If the visitor say “May I just look around?” You say “sure, May I help you Sir / Ma’am?” If the visitor says YES then take him/her for the library’s tour & if NO then tell him/her that “If you need any help then please let me know.”

1. REGULAR READER : 

1. REGULAR READER The attendant must not forget the name of the visitors who are our regular readers. The attendant should also keep in mind that are the subjects the like to read. The attendant should attend the regular readers / visitors with equal respect and dignity as one do would do with the New Reader / Visitor.

2. New Reader. : 

2. New Reader. New Reader are those who visit the library for the first time. It is natural that New Readers usually have more queries than the Regular ones. These visitors should be attended in a very pleasing manner such that they become our regular visitors.

Visitor : OK. Do you have medical books as well? Attendant : Sir, we have books on Physiology & Anatomy. We also have medical dictionaries for reference purpose. cont…

May I know who owns it?Attendant : Sir, Dr.Malpani runs this library it’s a Non-Profit Organization for people to find and solve their health related problems.Visitor : Is there any Membership Fee or Reading Charges?Attendant : We do not have any charges for using the library. It is a free reference library. If you wish to borrow we have two membership plans (Pls. explain the plan briefly).Visitor : Thank you so much! :

If you want to refer to books here it’s absolutely free but if you want to borrow books home than you need to be the member of the library. (Explain the membership plan.) Q. Why the deposit amount is so high for issuing a book? Ans. Sir, that is your money which is kept with us as a security deposit of the books that you issue to you.

>>>>cont. Q. Do you issue DVDs as well? Ans. If you want to watch any of the DVDs you can do so in our AV Room but we don’t issue DVDs because they are right protected. Q. How do I become a member of the library? Ans. Membership is open to anyone who finds our services useful, produces appropriate identification and pays the specified fee. Please do ask staff for the prevailing membership fees.

>>>>cont. Q. When do I have to return the books I have borrowed?Ans. Documents borrowed are to be returned on or before the due date stamped on the issue label. An overdue charge will be levied on any book returned after the due date.Q. How do I extend the due date of the books I have borrowed? Ans. You can phone, email or come in person to renew the loan period of your book. Your books / magazines can be renewed only once. Only the membership number of the book is required to renew a document. :
