We achieve this goal by providing a system of policies, procedures, and practices that encourage continuous improvement of all Safety and Health programs and the site specific Safety plan.From The President: From The President It is every employee’s responsibility to manage risk exposure. As an employee or subcontractor, at all times you must guard your safety and the safety of fellow personnel by identifying, controlling, and or eliminating known hazards that can result in personal injury or illness, equipment and property damage, or any other form of controllable loss.From The President: From The President As an employee or subcontractor, you must be aware of and comply with your responsibilities under legislatives, industry and company standards, including those identified in the Safety and Health Manual and Site Specific Safety Plan. You must promptly report all unsafe acts or conditions to your supervisor(s). Supervisors are responsible for taking immediate action on problems that arise.From The President: From The President Fostering a safety culture requires the dedication, commitment, involvement, and participation of all employees and subcontractors. Working together will allow us to achieve safety excellence.Indoctrination: Indoctrination ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COMPANY SAFETY PROGRAM I have watched the Nan Inc indoctrination video and have been briefed of the jobsite Personal Protective Equipment and on going work Hazards. I agree to follow all rules and regulations stated within the plan written by Nan Inc. (Accident Prevention Plan, Safety Plan, Hazard Communication, and Substance Abuse Policy). A copy is available at the field office.Indoctrination: Indoctrination By my signature below, I shall comply with the above stated and all safety and health requirements stated in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers EM 385-1-1, OSHA, HIOSH, and all Federal, State, and City Safety and Health regulations.Indoctrination: Indoctrination 1. General Safety Rules Orientation required by our company to ensure everyone is aware of all general safety rules. PPE-100% Hardhat Safety glasses Hearing protection Shirts with sleeves as required Long Trouser Steel/hard toe shoes Gloves RespiratorIndoctrination: Indoctrination a. Certificate of trainings = All certificate of training copy shall be provided to the safety manager for review. Certificate are the following: 1 st Aid and CPR training card. Operator card of equipment and or tools. b. Housekeeping - Work areas shall be maintained safe and orderly. All access shall be clean and clear of debris, tools, and materials. Spilled oil or grease shall be clean up immediatelyIndoctrination: Indoctrination c. Sanitation - Do not use common cups. Clean hands and filters daily and properly d. HazCom - Your supervisor is required by law to train you about handling materials that are hazardous to your health. Follow all warnings on package labels. MSDS are available for reference. If you are not familiar with the product…stop until you get trained.Indoctrination: Indoctrination e. Electrical - Extension cords used with portable electric tools and appliances must be of 3-wire type and must be designed for hard and extra-hard usage. Any defective cord must be repaired or else confiscated or cut. f. Fall Protection - Ladders, scaffold, excavation, man lift, scissor lift. Full body harness is the last resort when using fall protection. Need to engineer it out first. If railings are feasible it shall be used rather than full body harness.Indoctrination: Indoctrination g. Drugs & Alcohol are prohibited – Zero tolerance. Anyone thought to be under the influence of any type of mind altering substance will be asked to leave immediately. h . Seatbelt/ Cellphone Use - Everyone will wear seatbelt when operating equipment. Before moving the vehicle, seatbelt must be set. Cell phone use while operating a vehicle or equipment is prohibited. 30 days driving privilege in the base when caught using cell phone while driving.Indoctrination: Indoctrination 2. Reporting Unsafe Conditions - Report all Unsafe Conditions to your supervisor, so we can take care of it immediately. Unsafe condition must be eliminated immediately. Don’t let it become a negative report. 3. Job Conduct - Treat safety as your number one priority. Report to work in good mental and physical condition. Your actions or type of work affects othersIndoctrination: Indoctrination 4. Lifting Techniques - When lifting heavy objects large muscles of the legs shall be used instead of the smaller (and weak) muscles of the back. Bend the knees and keep back straight then lift. Don’t hesitate to ask for help 5. Medical and First Aid - Workers must be medically cleared to work. At least one worker from each subcontract is certified. First Aid Kit location will be mention to you per jobsite by the safety manager at the jobsite..Indoctrination: Indoctrination 6. Blood borne Pathogens – Hepatitis B& C, AIDS, HIV, and other blood borne pathogen. How does it enter body (eyes, bodily fluids, open wound) During an incident treat every victim as if he/she is affected with AIDS 7. Reporting Injuries - R eport all accidents to your supervisor immediately. Unsafe equipments, hazardous conditions, and unsafe acts shall be reported immediately. If accidents are reported late and injury worsens Nan Inc. will not be held liable.Indoctrination: Indoctrination 8. Fire Protection - Location of Fire extinguishers at the jobsite will again be mentioned by the safety manager at the jobsite. Anytime a worker use the fire extinguisher, it needs to be reported to the safety manager right away in order to be replaced immediately. In the event of fire call 911 and get everyone out of the building and get to the assembly area. NO SMOKING in the building or its vicinity. Smoking area will be pointed out by the Site Safety Manager.Indoctrination: Indoctrination 9. Emergency Procedures - Call 911 for all types of severe incidents. Inform the main office immediately of the emergency and the safety manager on site. 10. Storage of materials - No more than 25 gallons of Flammable or combustible liquids may be stored outside of an approved storage cabinet. Keep all flammables away from welding area. Do not obstruct pathway or access ways. Top tier must be tied offIndoctrination: Indoctrination 11. Safety meeting – Is usually Monday or first day of the week at 7am on the jobsite. The Safety manager on site will inform each worker when the jobsite have their Safety meeting.Indoctrination: Indoctrination Safety is everyone’s responsibility all worker are responsible for their safety and everyone around them. Nan Inc wants everyone to go home the same condition as when they came to work.
