Integration Requirement :
Integration Requirement AuthorStream needs to be integrated seamlessly with our LMS
Teachers should not need to fill in any unnecessary fields if there is not a need to.
Like how WizIQ was integrated to our LMS, we would like to Request a similar Integration for AuthorStream
Our Proposal for the integration :
Our Proposal for the integration When user is in LMS and click on [Upload Presentation to authorstream], we will check our DB if the user has already registered,
if yes, we use the info that we have,
If no, we will pop up this screen a. The LMS already has the ‘user name’ we will store that as a ‘hidden field’
b. We have some issues with ‘display name’ as the name needs to be unique for on authorstream, we propose using the username(replacing spaces with _) if there is already a user that that then authorstream can just add a running number at the end of the displayname
e.g (if ‘farid_mohd_ismail’ already exist then use ‘farid_mohd_ismail1’)
*since this username or displayname is not necessary for the credentials, acknowledgement of this thing doesn’t matter.
c. We propose using the our LMS as password, but there would be an issue if the user change their password in authorstream, then we will not be able to upload the user’s presentation, in wizIQ there is not a need for password, can we that have the same integration as what was in wiziq for this?
What we want is quick and simple integration with minimal confusion on the user side. So they still feel it’s a single system, even email (if we find that the user has email we will add that in) and user need only click on ‘continue’ and if there are issues with displayname, then authorstream will generate a unique name, and pass back to us the final accepted username, for us to store into our DB,
