ANOTHER WAY OF MULTIPLYING 2-DIGIT BY 2-DIGIT NUMBERS USING MY MATH SHORTCUT RULE 76 X 68 24 32 48 1. Reduce the value of both factors by subtracting each by 100; thus became 24 & 32. - 1st partial product + 72 - 2nd partial product 44 - cross-difference FINAL ANSWER 5168 ACTUAL PRODUCT 2. Multiply the multiplicand by the right-hand digit of the multiplier. The answer is 48 and we can call it as the first partial product. 3. In the same way, multiply the multiplicand by the left-hand digit of the multiplier. The result is 72 and we can call this number as the second partial product. 4. Find the cross-difference and this gives us 44. Arrange the partial values in a manner similar to the aforementioned procedure. 5. Add the three partial values to get the actual product. more shortcuts at www.mymathshortcuts.com
