Definition:

Definition Church Administration – the process by which a local congregation directs or controls the use of resources that God has given it to accomplish its God-given task.

Biblical Precedents:

Overcoming Misunderstandings about Administrators:

Overcoming Misunderstandings about Administrators Emphasis is on leading people, not using people “Administrations” (I Cor. 12:5, KJV) = diakoinia (the work of ministers and deacons)

Administration & Leadership:

Administration & Leadership What do they have in common? Involve influence Involve working well with people Concerned with the accomplishment of goals How are they different? Overriding function of leadership is to produce change and movement Overriding function of administration is to provide order, consistency, and efficiency
