Definitions : 

Definitions Decision – the selection of a course of action from two or more alternatives Corporate Decision – the selection of a course of action by a group of two or more people Decision-making – the process for determining a course of action from two or more alternatives

Definitions (cont.) High Quality Decisions affect the mission and goals of a church usually require input and some consensus of people who are affected by it Low Quality Decisions No less necessary than high quality relatively inconsequential to the organization

Slide 5: 

Structured Decision – routine, recurring decision for which there are systems and/or precedents. Characteristics include: familiar problem understanding of the consequences of the decision may not need input from a lot of people can be made in short amount of time.

Unstructured Decisions – New decisions that are not determined by precedent. Characteristics include: Limited information New info redefines the problem. Desired outcomes are unclear Varied opinions & ideas may influence choices Decisions may extend over long periods of time
