Slide2:

Spain has an extremely rich art tradition and the country has played a major role in the history of Western painting. The Spanish Golden Age was a period between the early 16th century to the late 17th century, and it saw the nation flourish in art and literature, becoming an important contributor to the European art world. The best-known Spanish artists of this era include Diego Velazquez, El Greco, Murillo, and Zurbaran. Francisco Goya, the most important Spanish artist of the late 18th and early 19th century, is considered as both the last of the Old Masters and the first of the Moderns. Spanish artists had a huge impact on modern art with some of the most influential artists of the modern era, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, and Joan Miro, all coming from Spain.
