Slide3:

We all have our own preferences when it comes to fine art, but there are some stunningly beautiful paintings that everyone can appreciate....

Slide5:

GRECO, El The Burial of the Count of Orgaz This El Greco masterpiece brilliantly presents and illustrates the contrast between this world and the Kingdom of Heaven above. This scene always touches with thoughts of life, death, and the afterlife.

VELÁZQUEZ, Diego Rodriguez de Silva y Las Meninas or The Family of Philip IV We see a painter standing back and looking at his work, while his apparent subject, a little girl, is being coaxed by two young ladies to remain still. Perhaps Valezquez wants us to know what kind of domestic scene he used to have to put up with while he painted.

GRECO, El Cardinal Fernando Niño de Guevara  The splendour and richness of colour is appropriate to the character and rank of the Grand Inquisitor and Archbishop of Seville. El Greco suggests the cardinal's personality through the emphasis on his prominent glasses, the compulsive gesture of his left hand, the animated, nervous brushwork, and the singular colour range.
