The one-week program was held at the Camp Nubar in Andes, NY (owned by the AGBU) with George Tashjian serving as camp director. Arpi Kouzouian as director and Christina Buchter serving as director or programming. The camp population includes 165 campers, 28 staff, and 26 CIT’s. Tuition is $415 for one week and $720 for two weeks. 2003 Slide 49: In its 25th year, the camp moves to its new home at the ARARAT CENTER in Greenville, NY with with Yn. Arpi Kouzouian as director and Charles Yousefian serving as director or programming. For the first time in the history of SVC, the camp is able to offer stipends to its staff. The camp population includes 189 campers, 30 staff, and 29 CIT’s. 2004 Slide 50: The camp season expands to six weeks (3 sessions) at the ARARAT CENTER in Greenville, NY with with Yn. Arpi Kouzouian as director, Jason Demerjian serving as assistant director, and Christina Buchter as director of programming. For the first time in its history, the camp holds a five-day pre-camp staff training program. The camp population included 231 campers, 40 staff, and 36 CIT’s. Tuition for one week was $440 and $770 for two weeks. 2005 Slide 51: Now in its third year at the ARARAT CENTER, St. Vartan Camp truly feels at home. After many years of service, Yn. Arpi Kouzouian stepped down as camp director and now serves her parish as full-time youth director. Jennifer Morris, youth outreach coordinator, handled all the administration, registration, and preparation for the camp season from the Diocesan Center. Fr. Krikor Sabounjian served as camp director working collaboratively with staff from the department of youth and education to develop curriculum for the Diocesan camp program. Julie Hoplamazian, college ministry facilitator stepped up to serve as the programming director during the camp season and DYE intern, Daron Bolat served as the staff director. Staff training took place at the Ararat Center for four days prior to arrival of campers. The camp population included 237 campers, 39 staff, and 36 CIT’s. Tuition for one week was $465 and $800 for two weeks. 2006 Slide 52: 2006 Andrea Durgarian – CIT hunt. Slide 53: Now in its fourth year at the ARARAT CENTER, St. Vartan Camp truly feels at home. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator, Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director, Julie Hoplamazian, programming director, Lydia Kurkjian, camp office coordinator. The camp population included 259 campers, 39 staff, and 48 CIT’s. Due to a 20% increase in rental costs, tuition also increased. This year a staggered tuition scale was introduced in a successful attempt to equally fill all three sessions. Tuition ranged between $450 - 550 for one week and $850 - 950 for two weeks. 2007 Slide 54: St. Vartan Camp returned home for its fifth year at the ARARAT CENTER and was excited to utilize the new addition of the outdoor pavilion and classrooms, which enhanced its program. The administrative staff included Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator, Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director, Arthur Sabounjian, programming director, Lydia Kurkjian, camp office coordinator. Staff training took place at the Ararat Center for four days prior to arrival of campers. The camp population included 258 campers, 34 staff, and 59 CIT’s representing 36 parishes. This year, to assist in equally filling all three sessions, a staggering scale was used. Tuition ranged from $450 - 550 for one week and $850 - 950 for two weeks. 2008 Slide 55: The summer marked its sixth year at the ARARAT CENTER. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator, Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director, Hasmik Ajamian, camp office coordinator, Arthur Sabounjian, programming director. The camp population included 233 campers, 47 staff, and 65 CIT’s representing 34 parishes. Now that the sessions are more evenly distributed, all three sessions had the same tuition. Tuition was $530 for one week and $980 for two weeks. 2009 Slide 56: St. Vartan camp has called the ARARAT CENTER home for seven years now. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator (sessions A/B), Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director (sessions A/B), Fr. Vasken Kouzouian, camp director (session C), Christina Yaikian-Gazarov, camp office coordinator, Greg Dalakian, camp administrator (session C), Yn Arpi Kouzouian, CIT coordinator (session C), Arthur Sabounjian, programming director. The camp population included 191 campers, 57 staff, and 44 CIT’s representing 34 parishes. Tuition was $530 for one week and $980 for two weeks. 2010 Slide 57: St. Vartan Camp returned home to the Ararat Center for its eighth year. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator (sessions A/B); Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director (sessions A/B); Fr. Vasken Kouzouian, camp director (session C); Christina Yaikian-Gazarov, camp office coordinator (A, B and C); Greg Dalakian, camp administrator (session C); Arthur Sabounjian, Diocesan camp intern. The camp population includes 188 campers, 56 CITs and 50 staff representing 36 Diocesan parishes and several non-Diocesan parishes. The camp population includes 195 campers, 35 staff, and 18 CIT’s. 2001 Slide 46: 2002 The four-week program (2 sessions) was held at Marvelwood School in Kent, CT with Yn. Arpi Kouzouian as director and Karen Khatchadourian serving as program director. The camp population includes 172 campers, 30 staff, and 24 CIT’s. SVC – 2002 : SVC – 2002 Justine Karanian, Christina Sirabian, Alexis Williams and Olivia Derderian Slide 48: The four-week program (2 sessions) was held for the eighth and last session at Marvelwood School in Kent, CT with Yn. Arpi Kouzouian as director and Christina Buchter serving as director or programming. The camp population includes 165 campers, 28 staff, and 26 CIT’s. Tuition is $415 for one week and $720 for two weeks. 2003 Slide 49: In its 25th year, the camp moves to its new home at the ARARAT CENTER in Greenville, NY with with Yn. Arpi Kouzouian as director and Charles Yousefian serving as director or programming. For the first time in the history of SVC, the camp is able to offer stipends to its staff. The camp population includes 189 campers, 30 staff, and 29 CIT’s. 2004 Slide 50: The camp season expands to six weeks (3 sessions) at the ARARAT CENTER in Greenville, NY with with Yn. Arpi Kouzouian as director, Jason Demerjian serving as assistant director, and Christina Buchter as director of programming. For the first time in its history, the camp holds a five-day pre-camp staff training program. The camp population included 231 campers, 40 staff, and 36 CIT’s. Tuition for one week was $440 and $770 for two weeks. 2005 Slide 51: Now in its third year at the ARARAT CENTER, St. Vartan Camp truly feels at home. After many years of service, Yn. Arpi Kouzouian stepped down as camp director and now serves her parish as full-time youth director. Jennifer Morris, youth outreach coordinator, handled all the administration, registration, and preparation for the camp season from the Diocesan Center. Fr. Krikor Sabounjian served as camp director working collaboratively with staff from the department of youth and education to develop curriculum for the Diocesan camp program. Julie Hoplamazian, college ministry facilitator stepped up to serve as the programming director during the camp season and DYE intern, Daron Bolat served as the staff director. Staff training took place at the Ararat Center for four days prior to arrival of campers. The camp population included 237 campers, 39 staff, and 36 CIT’s. Tuition for one week was $465 and $800 for two weeks. 2006 Slide 52: 2006 Andrea Durgarian – CIT hunt. Slide 53: Now in its fourth year at the ARARAT CENTER, St. Vartan Camp truly feels at home. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator, Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director, Julie Hoplamazian, programming director, Lydia Kurkjian, camp office coordinator. The camp population included 259 campers, 39 staff, and 48 CIT’s. Due to a 20% increase in rental costs, tuition also increased. This year a staggered tuition scale was introduced in a successful attempt to equally fill all three sessions. Tuition ranged between $450 - 550 for one week and $850 - 950 for two weeks. 2007 Slide 54: St. Vartan Camp returned home for its fifth year at the ARARAT CENTER and was excited to utilize the new addition of the outdoor pavilion and classrooms, which enhanced its program. The administrative staff included Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator, Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director, Arthur Sabounjian, programming director, Lydia Kurkjian, camp office coordinator. Staff training took place at the Ararat Center for four days prior to arrival of campers. The camp population included 258 campers, 34 staff, and 59 CIT’s representing 36 parishes. This year, to assist in equally filling all three sessions, a staggering scale was used. Tuition ranged from $450 - 550 for one week and $850 - 950 for two weeks. 2008 Slide 55: The summer marked its sixth year at the ARARAT CENTER. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator, Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director, Hasmik Ajamian, camp office coordinator, Arthur Sabounjian, programming director. The camp population included 233 campers, 47 staff, and 65 CIT’s representing 34 parishes. Now that the sessions are more evenly distributed, all three sessions had the same tuition. Tuition was $530 for one week and $980 for two weeks. 2009 Slide 56: St. Vartan camp has called the ARARAT CENTER home for seven years now. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator (sessions A/B), Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director (sessions A/B), Fr. Vasken Kouzouian, camp director (session C), Christina Yaikian-Gazarov, camp office coordinator, Greg Dalakian, camp administrator (session C), Yn Arpi Kouzouian, CIT coordinator (session C), Arthur Sabounjian, programming director. The camp population included 191 campers, 57 staff, and 44 CIT’s representing 34 parishes. Tuition was $530 for one week and $980 for two weeks. 2010 Slide 57: St. Vartan Camp returned home to the Ararat Center for its eighth year. The administrative staff included: Jennifer Morris, youth outreach/CIT coordinator (sessions A/B); Fr. Krikor Sabounjian, camp director (sessions A/B); Fr. Vasken Kouzouian, camp director (session C); Christina Yaikian-Gazarov, camp office coordinator (A, B and C); Greg Dalakian, camp administrator (session C); Arthur Sabounjian, Diocesan camp intern. The camp population includes 188 campers, 56 CITs and 50 staff representing 36 Diocesan parishes and several non-Diocesan parishes.
