If I was a turtle I would have orange spots.

Slide 4:

My shell is my home I carry with me always, able to come and go as I wish.

Slide 5:

I would lay basking in the sand and the sun. Catching the rays on my scaly skin and drying my shell from the crisp cool water.

Slide 6:

The water is where I would catch the fish I eat. The water is where I would swim and play.

Slide 7:

The woods next to the water and the sand are where I would crawl to see all that my world is.

Slide 8:

Watching the breeze blow the leaves and the grasshoppers jumping all day long.

Slide 9:

It's where the birds sing and the flies land on my nose.

Slide 10:

And when the big animals walk my way I could duck and hide in my shell, my home I carry with me everyday.

When they're gone I would come back out to play basking in the sun and the shade.

If I was a turtle, if you were a turtle what would you do?

Would you swim with Kio?

Or walk on a crocodile!

Put on a show like a dolphin!

And live in a bale like we do!

And lay at sunset on the beach.

Would you move like a snake?

Or take a trip to outer space?

What if you was a turtle just like me?

Just a glance into the life of a turtle and you’ll see what I saw. A child's eyes light up not because they have something new or you the reader being an excellent story teller but because you’re there. Children are the future so I encourage you to always take time, read to your child and ask them questions.
