Penalties, Power of Compound offences & Sanction for Prosecution under section 23, 24, 25 If the informant does not report an event in prescribed time limit as per section 8 & 9, he become liable to pay late fee and penalty as per section 13 & 23. The person concerned is required to pay the late registration fees along with the penalty that may be impossed under section 23 & 24. Compounding of an offence may be done by an authorised officer either before or after the Institution of criminal proceedings. After compounding, the accused person shall be discharged & no further criminal proceeding needed. The prosecution thereafter shall be conducted by Assistant Public Prosecutor under section 25.
