Sandeep’s Story This Delhi-based talent was discovered by GoSports in October 2007 At that stage, Sandeep was on the threshold of qualifying for the Beijing Olympics, and the GoSports team realized that with the correct encouragement and support, Sandeep would make the qualifying time and fulfill his dream of representing India Having already created records in the Senior Nationals (2007) and the Asian Age-Group Swimming Championships, Sandeep was all set to announce his arrival into the global swimming arena with GoSports’ support now firmly behind him

GoSports Interventions: - Worked closely with his coach in scheduling, monitoring and tracking his training and competitions. - The GoSports team, in tandem with the Swimming Federation, were able to convince the government to wholly fund Sandeep’s expenses prior to his qualifying for the Olympics, by correctly showcasing his potential and capabilities to the officials. - Facilitated access to support services – doctors, physiotherapists, lawyers, travel, media coverage, etc. essential for Sandeep's development as a world-class swimmer

Qualified for the Beijing Olympics in May 2008- becoming the first Indian breaststroke swimmer to do so. First Indian swimmer to break into the top 100 in the 2008 FINA World rankings in two events – 100 and 200m Breaststroke. Best World rank of 92 in the 100m Breaststroke.* His international training and competition expenses are funded entirely by the Sports Authority of India. He has been earmarked by the government as being a strong medal contender for the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Currently among the top 10 Breaststrokers in Asia, and is set to soon dominate the world stage! Holds the National records for the 50, 100 and 200m breaststroke events. Sandeep’s Potential Short-term Sandeep has already fulfilled his short-term goal of qualifying for the Olympics (where he created National records) and looks on course to meet his longer term targets Medium-term Medalist at the 2010 Asian Games and Commonwealth Games Long-term - Reach the Top 8 in the world with the proper guidance, support and management
