If you like something Singular (for example: La pizza), use the form: GUSTA If you like something Plural (for example: Los deportes), use the Form: GUSTAN GUSTAR TO LIKE If you like something, use the verb: GUSTAR! I like the mall. Me gusta el centro commercial.

PRONOUNS WITH GUSTAR : 

PRONOUNS WITH GUSTAR Me (Yo) Te (Tu) Le (El, ella, usted) Nos (nosotros) Les (Ellos, ellas, Ustedes) Gusta Gustan In order to say someone likes something, you use the pronoun with gustar along with Pronouns and the preposition a. A el le gusta la pizza.

What Do You Like? : 

What Do You Like? In order to ask someone else what they like, you ask: ¿QUE TE GUSTA? To answer, you reply: ME GUSTA….if singular ME GUSTAN….if plural

INFINITIVES AND GUSTAR : 

INFINITIVES AND GUSTAR An infinitive tells the meaning of the verb without naming any subject or tense. Infinitives are identified in English with the word “TO”. There are three kinds of infinitives in Spanish: -ir -ar -er When you use gustar with an infinitives, ALWAYS USE THE FORM GUSTA!

Examples of gustar with infinitives : 

Examples of gustar with infinitives A mi me gusta jugar al beisbol. I like to play baseball. A ellos les gusta navegar por internet. They like to surf the internet. A nosotros nos gusta escuchar musica. We like to listen to music.

Querer To Want To say what you or others want, use a form of the verb querer. Just like with GUSTAR, you are able to use a noun or an infinitive after a form of Querer to say what you and others want to do.

Pronouns with Querer Yo Tu El, ella, usted Nosotros Ellos, ellas, ustedes Quiero Quieres Quiere Queremos Quieren

What do you want to do? : 

What do you want to do? To ask someone what they want to do, you ask: Que quieres hacer? To reply: Quiero…. Followed by what you want to do.

Examples of Querer : 

Examples of Querer Quiero Fruita. I want some fruit. Quieres cantar. You want to sing. Queremos jugar al volibol. We want to play volleyball.

PREPOSITIONS : 

PREPOSITIONS There are prepositions in Spanish just like there on in English. ENGLISH EX:The smell is coming from my shoes. SPANISH EX: Quieres nadar con nosotros. You want to go swimming with us. A= TO EN= IN CON= WITH DE= Of, FROM There are prepositions that are able to be contracted: Con+mi= conmigo=with me Con+ti=contigo=with you
