Only a defensive player (team without possesion of the puck) can make a check (1) on an offensive player (player with posseion of the puck)
Slide 5:
Only the player with the puck can be checked. No other player on the offensive team can be checked.
Slide 6:
Other players can be ubstructed (2) , but not checked.
Slide 7:
A defensive player must have both skates in the perimeter zone in order to make a check.
Slide 8:
An offensive player cannot be checked if they are perpendicular to the the boards (facing the boards). The player must be in motion parallel to the closest boards.
