To lead children to a relationship with Jesus To educate children about the scripturesBible Point: Day 1: Bible Point: Day 1 “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!” Psalm 139:14Bible Point: Day 2: Bible Point: Day 2 “You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.” -Psalm 139:4Bible Point: Day 3: Bible Point: Day 3 “Even in darkness I cannot hide from you.” Psalm 139:12Bible Point Day 4: Bible Point Day 4 “Lead me along the path of everlasting life.” Psalm 139:24Bible Point: Day 5: Bible Point: Day 5 “You place your hand of blessing on my head.” Psalm 139:5Attention Grabber: Attention Grabber The Bible point of the day followed by “Thank you, God!” followed by silence Can be used by any leader May need to practice it a few times and introduce it to new kidsNeed-to-Know Info: Need-to-Know Info Opening and Closing will be in the sanctuary . We will do all the music in these two spots . We will take the offering in the opening and give a total in the closing . The last evening we will do the offering “punishment” in the closing.Need-to-Know Info: Need-to-Know Info Pre-school crews Crafts will be in the Sunday school room across from the nursery (where we have Pre-school church) Story will be in the adult Sunday school room on the other side of the nursery Snacks will be in the fellowship hall Games will be outside in the parking lotNeed-to-Know Info: Need-to-Know Info Elementary Crews Crafts will be in the fellowship hall in the second Sunday school room. Story will be in the Sunday school room behind the Nursery Monday night only – in the teen room after that. Games will be outside in the side parking lot. Snack will be in the fellowship hall.God Sightings: God Sightings We will be looking for God all throughout the week. Each crew leader has tape and a sharpie marker. There are God Sightings maps in different areas of the church. Go to these maps with your crews whenever you have extra time and record some of the things that remind your kids of God.Special Activities: Scott Geis and Dan Slusser will be taking pictures to use for our closing and for Friday’s craft. Tuesday’s craft will be a t-shirt project made with spray bottles (similar to tie-dye). Bring along a shirt if you would like to make one also. Special ActivitiesRegistration & Groups: Anyone not leading a crew should help direct at the registration table, especially the first night. Pre-registered kids will already be assigned to a group and can go straight there (I will have a board posted in the foyer with current groups). We will begin each night at 6:00pm (try to come early if possible). Look ahead to the next night and see if there is anything you need. Registration & GroupsCrew Leaders: There will be 8 groups (4 preschool, 4 elementary). There will (hopefully) be several crew leaders in each group. Assign yourselves to children within your crew and get to know those kids each night . If there is a particularly active kid, give less kids to the adult traveling with him/her. Crew LeadersCrew Leaders: Elementary crews will be mixed ages (K-6) Older kids should be given a “helping” role with the younger kids and with the adults. Give them jobs (the schedule supervisor, the thank-you- er , the materials manager, the guide, etc.) Please take attendance as accurately as possible and someone will collect it from you at the end of the week. Crew LeadersCrew Leaders: Be a friend and a helper Call the kids by name Ask the kids questions Encourage others Support the station leaders Be a positive person, especially with the kids Crew LeadersPrayer Requests: Safety for everyone involved Barriers removed for the volunteers and the kids attending Joy in serving others Mission of VBS would be met The “seeds planted” during VBS would grow and flourish Prayer RequestsThank you for volunteering!: Thank you for volunteering!
