Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima rama bhaja so jita jaga men, rama bhaja so jita. hath sumarani peta katarani, padhata bhagavata gita; hridaya shuddha kiya nahin baure, kahata sunata dina bita. ana deva ki puja kinhi, guru se raha atita; dhana yauvana saba yahin rahega, anta samaya cale rita. bavariya ne bavara dari, moha jala saba kita; kahahin kabira kala dhari khaihain, jaise mriga ko chita. He who worships Rama flourishes in the world! He who worships flourishes! You who read the Bhagavad and the Gita, rosary in hand but knife concealed in the bosom, You fools have not cleansed your hearts and your days pass by in wrangling. You have worshipped other gods, bereft of the guru; wealth and youth stay behind as you leave empty handed. The mad one has cast her madness over you, ensnaring you in a net of delusion; Says Kabir, death will catch and devour you just as the cheetah devours the deer.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru ki mahima ko kahai, siva viranchi nahin jana; guru sataguru ko chinhi ke, pave pada niravana. Who can describe the guru’s greatness? Even Shiva and Brahma know it now; Recognise the guru as the Satguru, and you attain liberation from the world.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru govinda kari janiye rahiye shabda samaya; milai to dandavata bandagi, pala pala dhyana lagaya. Know the guru and God to be one, contained within the mystic sound; Should you encounter him, offer your servitude and meditate upon him always.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru govinda dou khade, kinake lagaun paya; balihari gurudeva ki, govinda diyo bataya. The guru and God both stand before me- at whose feet should I fall? To the revered guru I dedicate myself, for he has led me to God.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru hain bade govinda te, mana men dekhu vicara; hari siraje te vara hai, guru siraje te para. The guru is greater than God himself, consider this in your mind! God brings us into this world, but the guru leads us from it.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima kumatikicha chela bhara, guru gyana jala hoya; janama janama ka moracha, pala men dare dhoya. The disciple is covered in the mud of perversity, the knowledge of the guru is as water; The dirt of successive births is washed away in a trice.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru dhobi shisha kapada, sabuna sirjana hara; surati sila para dhoikai, nikasai joti apara. The guru is the washerman, the disciple the garment, and the creater himself is the soap; when the clothes are beaten on the stone of divine reflection, they shine out bright and clean.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru kumhara shisha kumbha hai, gadhi gadhi kadhae khota; antara hatha sahara dai, bahira mare chota. The guru is the potter, the disciple the pot that he gradually moulds free of faults; He slaps it hard on the outside, but supports it inside with his hand.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru sarnagata chhandi ke, karai bharosa aura; sukha sampati ki kaha chalin, nahin naraka men thaura. For one who leaves the guru’s refuge and puts his trust elsewhere, Gone is the chance of blissful ease, and not even hell will hold him.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima guru mukha bani uchare, shishya sanchi kari mana; ya vidhi phanda chhuta hin, aura yukti nahin ana. The disciple accepts as true those words uttered by the mouth of the guru; Thus he may be freed from the worlds snare- there is no other way.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima saba dharati kagada karun, likhani saba banaraya; sata sumanda ki masi karun, guru guna likha na jaya. Though I make all the world into paper, and all the forest trees into pens, Though I turn the seven seas into ink, still the guru’s qualities could not be written.

Guru Mahima :

Guru Mahima Om Namo Gurudeva!
