My hair has been falling out little by little since my son was born. Okay, I realize that this is normal after pregnancy, however, my son is almost two years old now. I expected it to stop about a year ago at least. Every time I shower there is a large amount of hair covering the drain. Enough to make a small ball. I don’t take any medications, I don’t color my hair. I’ve had anxiety issues since I was in high school but it’s never affected my hair before, so I don’t know if that’s related now. I was considering changing shampoo, since I started using the current one (Aussie Cleanse and Mend) about six months ago.

I would have some general blood work done to rule out a medical cause. PCOS can cause thinning of a woman’s hair. So can other hormonal imbalances. Stress also plays a factor, as it increases cortisol, which may throw off your balance of hormones. If you blood work comes back normal, I would seek better treatment for your anxiety. also, make sure you are sleeping and eating a balanced diet- can’t hurt. Taking prescription multivitamins may also help if you are nutrient deficient, causing hair loss. there are lots of possible causes, most of them not serious, but you need a Dr.’s advice. Hope that helps!

The first thing to do to get hair back into a healthy state, it may require the assistance of a doctor. One of the main reasons women have thinning hair is because they do not have enough iron in their bodies. Patients that have frequent anemia often complain about the thinning of their hair. There are treatments that can help with the anemia, therefore, will help keep hair from falling out.

There are some simple reasons behind the hair loss, but some do not realize that these can trigger problems with hair growth. One of the most common is thyroid problems. Although all women react differently to thyroid problems, the most common complain is that their hair is thinning way too soon in life. Many prescription medications will also have an adverse affect to the human body and there is no sure fire way to tell if a reaction will happen. This is often when a doctor will advise the patient to take vitamins to prevent hair loss and other diverse affects of the medication.

Vitamins developed to help hair grow thick and healthy often work as well as a good multivitamin. For more information, do a little checking on line by putting hair loss symptoms into the search engine. Consult with your doctor about any concerns you may have.
