The Holy Eucharist :

The Holy Eucharist 2. The promise of the Eucharist

Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread. :

Jesus multiplied the loaves of bread. A boy offered Jesus five loaves and two fishes to be given as food for the crowd. Jesus blessed them and gave them to the Apostles for them to distribute. Thousands ate. Leftovers were gathered filling up twelve baskets.

Jesus’ miracles show His power :

Jesus’ miracles show His power After the miracles, the disciples are able to understand that He who has the power to multiply bread, heal incurable illnesses or walk on water also has the power to convert bread and wine into His Body and His Blood.

After the multiplication of the loaves of bread, Jesus promised the Eucharist. :

After the multiplication of the loaves of bread, Jesus promised the Eucharist. Jesus explained that God fed the Jews in the desert sending them mannah. They were fed as they wandered through the desert, but they later died.

Jesus promised the Eucharist :

Jesus promised the Eucharist Among other things He said: The bread that I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood shall have eternal life. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. (Jn 6: 51,54,55).

Jesus spoke about the Real Presence :

Jesus spoke about the Real Presence Jesus’ words cannot be understood symbolically: those who heard them thought that this could not be true. They said: This is a hard saying…. How can this man give his flesh to eat?

Jesus spoke about His Real Presence, not about symbolisms. :

Jesus spoke about His Real Presence, not about symbolisms. This is why when the Jews got scandalized, He did not say: You have misunderstood me. Rather He repeated what He had said. It was so clear such that many abandoned Him.

Do you also wish to go away? :

Do you also wish to go away? Jesus preferred that they abandon Him than changing what He had told them.Peter and the other apostles fully trusted Jesus, although they could not understand it. THE END
