Tapping early childhood memories to allow acquisition of second language vocabulary

Student is invited to think of his or her earliest childhood memories, draw pictures, bring family photos or special articles reflecting remembered experiences, people, places or things from that early period of life.

Slide 3: 

Each student may organize personal collection on his or her personal board, chart, or box. Items will be given second language names, definitions, and descriptions.

Slide 4: 

Students are encouraged to speak and write individual words and phrases using the second language.

Slide 5: 

Teacher uses modeling and sharing to create a fun and non threatening environment for writing and speaking the second language words and phrases which describe the student memories from their respective early childhoods.
