Icon of the Resurrection
“Christ is risen from the dead,
trampling down death by death,
and upon those in the tombs, bestowing life.”
(Orthodox Easter Hymn)
This is what Orthodox Christianity is all about, resurrection … the destruction of all that darkens our humanity and the brightening of our lives with Christ’s victory over every opposing power, including death.
We make that victory our own as we repent, take up our cross and follow Christ.
