PowerPoint Presentation:

During the making of my media product, I have come across different hurdles along the road where I need to use lots of different equipment, software, techniques and effects. This has been a learning experience as I have had to learn to adapt and use all theses different technologies and techniques.

Blogger:

Blogger Blogger is one of the key technologies I have learnt to use as every thing I have created and made I had to upload and post it onto the blog. From using this technology I have learnt to be able to update my work and developments in the production of our media product and explain the ideas through the blog. Also, Blogger has enabled me to keep up to date with the work of my group’s and see their progress. Blogger has also allowed for cross-media as it allows videos from YouTube, PowerPoint presentations and Prezi to be uploaded onto the blog.

YouTube:

YouTube YouTube has allowed for me to upload the videos of our preliminary task and all of our rough cuts to be shared for people to view. This then allowed us to get feedback from our videos to see what we needed to do to improve our media product to appeal more to our target audience. Like blogger, it gives a list in which can be accessed easily and allows for customisation on the site to attract audiences and appeal more to our target audience.

Twitter:

Twitter Twitter is a social networking website where mostly teenagers use and visit. As our target audience uses social networking sites frequently and regularly, we decided to created a twitter page for our media product. We also did this because production companies with their newly realised films tend to have a Twitter or Facebook page to update their audience on the progress of the film. It also allows our production company to gain audience research quicker and easier.

Facebook:

Facebook Facebook is also a social networking website where mostly teenagers use and visit. As our target audience uses social networking sites frequently and regularly, we decided to created a Facebook page for our media product. We also did this because production companies with their newly realised films tend to have a Twitter or Facebook page to update their audience on the progress of the film. It also allows our production company to gain audience research quicker and easier.

Authorstream:

Authorstream This website allows me to upload PowerPoint presentations I have created and convert them so I am able to post them on Blogger. This website has allowed cross-media as it allows to be converted to be embed and posted onto other websites for viewing such as Blogger. It also has allowed cross-media as it allows you to upload programs from different software ( i.e Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation) and able to convert them. I have learnt that the technology from Authorstream has allowed me to be able to access documents and post them on other websites.

Google:

Google Google has helped me learn the most as I have used the search engine to access secondary research and collect different images, videos, stats and information.

Adobe Premiere Pro:

Adobe Premiere Pro Adobe Premiere Pro is a video editing software where you are able to edit different videos/camera shots together, this is the software in which we used to create our opening sequence. In order for us to create our opening sequence and use the software correctly we used a Adobe Premiere Pro Software guidebook where we learnt to use the programmes effects and transitions and video effects. We also learnt how to cut/trim out videos, and brighten the lighting the shot or darken it. We also learnt how to speed up the shot if we watched the scene to flow faster.

Adobe After Effects:

Adobe After Effects Adobe After Effects is a video effect software in which we used to create our titles for our opening sequence. Garage Band Garage Band is a music software we used to create our original and unique soundtrack for our opening sequence. We learnt after researching on Google how to function the software and use the effective sounds and beats such as the guitar or piano with different settings to create a unique sound.

Tripods:

Tripods For the filming of our opening sequence, we used our teacher’s professional tripods and video camera to shoot our scenes. I learnt that using a tripod how to assemble and set them up quickly and also how to set them up and hold them in positions where the camera is steady and solid to prevent wobbly footage. However, we did also use free cam for our shot revealing a text message on a phone, we did this so the wobbles from the camera would give off the effect that we was looking from the characters eyes and we was holding to phone and reading the text message.

Video Cameras :

Video Cameras For the filming of our media product we used our teacher’s professional video camera. We was already used to handling the camera software for the filming due to our preliminary task so we could use the camera correctly for our opening sequence. However, during the filming we learnt how to change the settings on the camera to set different lighting effects to brighten up the shot or making it more darker depending on how the ambient lighting was.

PowerPoint:

PowerPoint I used the software PowerPoint to present my ideas and information about the research I have been doing for our opening sequence. I learnt by using PowerPoint how to create professional looking presentations with selective looking designs and backgrounds with easy to read texts/fonts.
