Slide 1:Mother
Is the Only Truth in the World
Slide 2:My Mother had only one Eye.
I hated her…
She was such an Embarrassment.
Slide 3:She cooked for students and teachers
to support the family.
Slide 4:There was this one day
During my elementary school,
Where my mother came to say
Hello to me.
Slide 5:I was so embarrassed.
How could she do this to me?
Slide 6:I ignored her.
Throw her a hateful look
And
Ran away.
Slide 7:I ignored her.
Throw her a hateful look
And
Ran away.
Slide 8:Next day at school
My classmates said,
“EEEE, your mother has one eye!’.
Slide 9:I wanted to bury myself.
I also wanted my mother to
just disappear.
Slide 10:So I confronted her that day
and said,
“if you are only going to make me
A laughing stock,
Why don’t you
Just die!!!”.
Slide 11:My mother did not respond,..
Slide 12:I did not even stop to think of what I had said,
Because I was full of anger.
Slide 13:I was oblivious to her feelings.
Slide 14:I walked out of the house.
And decided to have nothing to do with her.
Slide 15:So I studied hard
And
Got an opportunity to study at Cambridge.
Slide 16:I was happy with my life,
My kids
And
My comforts.
Slide 17:Then one day,
my mother came to visit me.
Slide 18:She had not seen me in years
And
She did not even meet her grandchildren.
Slide 19:When she stood by the door,
My children laughed at her,
And I yelled at her for coming uninvited.
Slide 20:I screamed at her,
“How dare you come to my home
and scare my children!”
Get out of here!!! N0W
Slide 21:And to this,
my mother quietly answered,
“Oh! I am sorry.
I may have gotten the wrong address,
and
She disappeared out of sight.
Slide 22:One day,
A letter regarding my school reunion came to my house.
Slide 23:I decided to attend the reunion.
Slide 24:After the reunion,
I went to see the old women (my mother),
Just out of curiosity.
Slide 25:My neighbors said that
She died.
Slide 26:I did not shed a single tear.
Slide 27:They handed me a letter that she had wanted me to have.
Slide 28:My dearest son,
I think of you all the time.
I am sorry that I had come to your house and
Scared your children.
Slide 29:I was so glad when I heard that you were coming
for the reunion.
Slide 30:But I may not able to get of the bed to see you.
Slide 31:I am sorry that I was a constant embarrassment
when you were growing up.
Slide 32:You see…
When you were very little,
You got into an accident, And lost your eye..
Slide 33:As a mother,
I could not stand watching you
having to grow up with one eye.
Slide 34:So I gave you mine.
Slide 35:I was so proud of my son
seeing the whole new world for me, in my place,
With that eye.
Slide 36:With my love to you, Your mother.
