Exam registration fee will need to be paid every time. Program enrolment fees is not required to be paid again. FAQ : FAQ Will the exams be held in India? Answer: The option to select India as a center may not be there initially. Candidates are advised to select any other center. The option to change the center to India will appear two or three months before the exam. CFA Institute still has an ongoing litigation with ICFAI but our view is that the exams will continue to be held in India. FAQ : FAQ Do you need work experience in the finance field before taking the exam? Answer – Candidates need to be in their final year of graduation. No other criteria (finance background or work experience) is required to be met. We advise candidates to finish the three levels of the exam as early in their career as possible. FAQ : FAQ Are there any section wise cut offs? Answer: There are no section wise cut offs and there is no additional weightage given to Ethics or any other section of the exam. If you are failing the exam by just one mark, then an additional grace mark is at times given if you have scored well in the Ethics section. FAQ : FAQ I don’t have any background in finance, will I need special preparation? Answer: Finstructor’s preparation program assumes no prior knowledge of any subject related to the curriculum. All topics are taught from the basics and no part of the curriculum is left out. Read more about our programs at www.finstructor.in or request further information at info@finstructor.in | +91 99202 222792. FAQ : FAQ I am working in a non-finance company (IT, manufacturing etc.), should I pursue CFA? Answer: Pursuing the CFA designation is the best way to gain the requisite skill sets and brand equity to enter the world of finance. Even if you wish to continue in your current role, the conceptual knowledge of finance will help better your overall prospects. FAQ : FAQ CFA v/s MBA Finance Answer: CFA is a course dedicated to finance. In our opinion no other curriculum covers the concepts of finance and financial analysis as exhaustively as the CFA program. MBA finance braces only 20% of the overall concepts taught in CFA, it does however add knowledge of marketing, HR and other aspects of business management. Both courses should be looked at as complements rather than an either/or comparison. Both courses substantially improve your career prospects. FAQ : FAQ CFA v/s FRM Answer: FRM is an exam dedicated to risk management while CFA is more holistic in its approach. It does incorporate the concepts of risk management in its curriculum, however not in as much depth as the FRM program. If you are sure that you want to work in the field of risk management (bank, portfolio risk etc. ), FRM may be the course of choice. If you wish to keep your options open and do a more holistic course, CFA should be your preferred bet. Many students pursue both designations simultaneously. The courses should again be looked at as complements rather than an either/or comparison. Both courses significantly improve your career prospects. FAQ : FAQ How should I prepare for the exam?
