The Name, GRAND CENIA the word Grand was added to reflect the enormity of the undertaking.

Grand Cenia Hotel and Residences was conceptualized in response to the flourishing hotel industry in Cebu. Tourist arrival in Cebu has grown from 1 million in 2004 to 1.25 million in 2006, averaging around 43% of the total tourist arrivals for the Philippines. Tourist arrivals have grown by 14.10% in 2004, 10.47% in 2005 and 11.57% in 2006. Cebu’s Tourism Boom Survey of hotel occupancy rates in Cebu reveal that De Luxe hotels average 69.99% occupancy, First Class hotels average 70.04% occupancy and Standard hotels average 69.63% occupancy in 2006.
