Found its way to the United States in 1900's. Today, Kempo Karate is one of the most popular martial arts in the U.S. Program for all ages Starting at 3 years of age KEMPO KARATE Slide 4: Mixed martial arts or MMA is a combat sport in which a wide variety of fighting techniques are used, including: Striking and Grappling At New Wave, we maintain an atmosphere of respect as we focus on the self defense and competition aspects. Program for Teens and Adults 13 + years of age MMA Slide 5: San Shou is a modern Chinese hand to hand combat, self-defense system, and combat sport. It is composed of aspects of traditional martial arts fighting styles in China, but mainly based on scientific 1-on-1 STAND-UP combat efficiency. Program for Teens and adults 13 + Years of Age KICKBOXING (San Shou) Slide 6: Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art that incorporates Dance Self-defense and Acrobatics. CAPOEIRA (Acrobatic Martial Arts) It was created by African Slaves held captive in Brazil. It has earned much respect for its roots and is one of the most beautiful art forms in the world.
