Slide 2:

A Loving Mother A Loving Wife A Devoted Daughter A Supportive Sister A Patriot and Nationalist A Philanthropist and Social Worker A Good Friend A Loyal And Kind Hearted Soul An endeavour and journey started by Mrs Nasrine Karim

Slide 3:

DAROGA BARI - The residence of ‘ The 40 ’ The house of Nasrine’s maternal grandparents. She spent the first seven years of her life in this house. Spoilt and loved by her two aunts she always remembered her childhood with fondness and referred to her time in Comilla as some of the best years of her life. It was not surprising that she chose to be buried here. One stands and looks at the property and immediately feels peace and can relate to why growing up here was special.

Slide 4:

I may not be able to change the world but I can change the destiny of these 40 boys and will drive them forward in life to the best of my ability. My unyielding commitment to this project can only be compared to how deeply I love my mother. She may be gone but she is buried in Comilla watching the progress of her dream project which she made me promise to see through to fruition. Inshallah I will not let her down, with my family and friends by my side. Mishal Karim Secretary General of The Earth Identity Project “ ”

Slide 5:

THE DESTINY OF BOYS CHANGES FOREVER WITH THE UNWAIVERING CONVICTION OF THOSE INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT. 40

Slide 6:

We are taking 40 three year old boys and changing their lives.

Slide 7:

Our commitment to these boys will be from age three until they graduate university.

Slide 8:

We will even help place them in great careers.

Slide 9:

‘The 40’ will then be responsible for mentoring the next batch of 40.

Slide 10:

We are providing them with a great facility which will include their residence, a canteen, TV room, expansive garden to play and a classroom.

Slide 11:

They will be taught English from an early age.

Slide 12:

They will attend the best school in the area and have a supervised and quality education program.

Slide 13:

They will be given clothes, toys and all personal items, including pocket money, throughout their stay in the orphanage.

Slide 14:

A sense of brotherhood will be instilled in these boys from an early age - they will never feel alone in the world.

Slide 15:

There will be a lot of focus on discipline, health, sports and fitness.

Slide 16:

From age six, they will start a rigorous fitness and cricket programme. We expect National team players coming out from this institution.

Slide 17:

They will eat healthily and be given all the vitamins and supplements required for them to grow strong. We want them to become world class sportsmen.

Slide 18:

They will be engaged in community service, and a strong sense of nationalism will be instilled in these boys.

Slide 19:

They will be introduced to religious studies at an early age.

Slide 20:

We will organize field trips throughout their lives so that they get a global perspective.

Slide 21:

Each child will have a surrogate parent who will mentor the child in his journey through life, with regular communication taking place.

Slide 22:

There will be a Drama and Arts programme which will be overseen by Aly Zaker, Sara Zaker, Iresh Zaker and Sree Kartha.

Slide 23:

The Education programme will be overseen by Rubina Karim, Heather Bretzfield and Imran Ahmed.

Slide 24:

The Cricket programme will be overseen in the future by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

Slide 25:

The IT programme will be overseen by BG INTERACTIVE.

Slide 26:

A comprehensive approach to selecting children will be established. Those best suited to the programme will be chosen.

Slide 27:

A GOOD IDEA REMAINS A GOOD IDEA IF NEVER IMPLEMENTED. TO DRIVE THIS FROM A CONCEPT TO REALITY IS THE TRUE TEST OF DETERMINATION OF THOSE BEHIND THIS PROJECT. AS WITH MOST THINGS IN LIFE, MONEY IS A CRITICAL CONSIDERATION.

Slide 29:

The item of most value, the land and building, valued at approx $350, 000, has been donated by Nasrine Karim executed by her successor Mishal Karim. Darogar Bari will be made available for a nominal monthly rent of BDT 5,000 to the project.

Slide 30:

THE CAPITAL EXPENDITURE FOR CREATING THE FACILITY NEEDS TO BE RAISED [STRATEGY IN PLACE]   *K&B presentation will have more details

Slide 31:

THE VARIABLE COSTS OF RUNNING THE FACILITY WILL BE RAISED VIA A SPONSOR A CHILD CAMPAIGN PROGRAMME- INDIVIDUALS BETWEEN THE AGE OF THIRTY AND FORTY WILL BE REQUESTED TO PAY THE ANNUAL COST OF LOOKING AFTER A CHILD. THE INDIVIDUAL WILL TAKE ON THE ROLE OF SURROGATE PARENT AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO MENTOR THE CHILD AND GUIDE HIM THROUGH LIFE. WE ARE TARGETING THAT, BY THE THIRD YEAR, THE ORPHANAGE WILL GENERATE ENOUGH REVENUE SO THAT NO MINIMAL FINANCIAL CONTRIBUTION WILL BE REQUIRED FROM SURROGATE PARENTS.

Slide 32:

Other fundraising activities will be profits from the DIA ASIANA magazine and charitable events

Slide 33:

DONATIONS FROM LOCAL CORPORATIONS AND INTERNATIONAL DONOR INSTITUTIONS CAN ALSO BE EXPLORED

Slide 34:

Various sponsorships in ‘kind’ will be sought after decreasing costs going forward.

Slide 35:

SPECIAL THANKS TO: for committing to create the website for this project. for developing the corporate ID for the project and the required presentations for revenue generation. for creating the facility at cost price

Slide 37:

Complete focus on raising funds for building the facility first and then switching over to ……...……….. Campaign, creating all required marketing collateral and a website for the project.

Slide 38:

My recommendation is to start construction of the facility immediately

Slide 39:

Once the facility has been handed over, staff will be hired to manage the orphanage. A rigorous process will be designed to choose orphans, ensuring that the best candidates are selected to join the programme.

Slide 40:

Right now, in this room, ‘The 40’ comes alive. One must first believe that the vision communicated in the presentation is possible. The difference between success and failure is commitment. So please commit your heart to this project.   My heart was committed from the moment my mother left me alone in this world.   We may not have all the answers now but we must be confident that we can navigate our way through any complexity that will inevitably come our way. THANK YOU! ‘TO PONDER IS TO DREAM. TO BELIEVE IS TO SEE’
