This presentation shows:

The three steps of the student registration process as seen by the student The quality control and accuracy assurance features built into the student registration process How a student’s registration process moves from account creation ( no orders) to pending to paid This presentation shows

Finding the registration home page:

Students navigate to their school’s registration home page one of two ways: From the Excel Registration home page From a link posted on the school’s website, distributed via email, and/or published in an e-newsletter distributed to students Finding the registration home page

PowerPoint Presentation:

From Excel Registration’s home page: www.excelregistration.com Click here to begin.

PowerPoint Presentation:

From Excel Registration’s home page: www.excelregistration.com Choice of two search methods: State and City or via CEEB code.

PowerPoint Presentation:

From Excel Registration’s home page: www.excelregistration.com This presentation will take the State/City option.

PowerPoint Presentation:

From Excel Registration’s home page: www.excelregistration.com Selecting the city will bring up a list of schools in the selected city.

PowerPoint Presentation:

From Excel Registration’s home page: www.excelregistration.com The student then selects their school from the listed schools. This selection will bring them to the school’s registration home page.

PowerPoint Presentation:

The school’s registration home page (accessible once the coordinator’s account has been verified and activated) will be www.excelregistration.com/schools/######.php (where the school’s CEEB code replaces the ###### segment of the address) All of the information populated during the account and school registration home page setup appears on this page. Buttons enable existing users to log into their existing account and for new users to create an account. The school registration home page serves as a one-stop information resource for AP exams.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Students begin the account creation process by populating the information that will also be required of them during the preadministration session.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Once the student account is created, an auto generated email is sent to the student containing the student’s login credentials. The email also serves as a notice to students to complete their registration by selecting and paying for exams.

PowerPoint Presentation:

The student proceeds to the Student Exam Information Page after reading and acknowledging the security/access warning page.

PowerPoint Presentation:

The second of the three steps (exam selection) begins when the student clicks the Order Exams link. At this point, the student has created an account, but the account has does not have an associated order. If the student logs out at this time, the student’s name and email contact information will automatically populate to the Students with No Orders roster and email lists. In other words, step one (account creation) of the three steps of the student registration process has now been completed.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Once exam selection has occurred and the student clicks Continue and Confirm Your Selections , the second of the three registration steps has been completed. The student selects exams from this page. The coordinator should include as many details as possible on the registration home page to guide students to the correct exams.

PowerPoint Presentation:

At this point, the student has the opportunity to pay online, pay in person, edit the current order by changing exam selections, or pay later. Reminder: student registration remains incomplete until payment is receipted either online or in person. Clicking Save Order and Pay Later retains the student’s order, but enables the student to log in later, with a parent, and render payment online. Important: Students who indicate participation in free/reduced lunch programs will not have the pay online buttons displayed here. These students must report to the coordinator to pay in person, allowing the coordinator to deduct any applicable discounts. Note : The service fee will appear AFTER the online payment option is selected if the student pays online.

PowerPoint Presentation:

The confirmation email contains information regarding the student’s order, preadministration session information, and exam details for the exams associated with the order.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Clicking Pay in Person brings the student to their voucher that contains detailed information about your school’s testing program. Clicking the Printable Version link brings up a printer friendly version of the voucher that can be presented to the coordinator with the exam payment.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Important: As long as payment has not been recorded by the exam coordinator, the student retains the option to pay online. This is the printable version of the voucher. Clicking the Print this page link sends the job to the printer. Closing the voucher windows brings the student back to their Exam Information Page , which looks a bit different now…

PowerPoint Presentation:

Note : when the student initially closes the ordering windows, the Order Exams link will still show as active. Should the student click on this active link, they will be directed to their pending exam order. If the student clicks the My Exams link prior to having their exam payment receipted, no exams will be displayed. A message warning the student to render payment as a requirement to completing registration will be displayed instead. Refreshing this screen will deactivate the Order Exams link leaving the student with the options to view, edit, or pay for their order.

PowerPoint Presentation:

From here, students may edit their order or be cycled back to the payment screen (shown earlier) where they can choose from among the available payment options. Important : Students may only change exam selections from the Edit link. At this point, orders cannot be cancelled by the student. For the sake of illustration, the example student will bet taken through the online payment process. Once the Pay Now button is clicked, the student is returned to the payment option page.

PowerPoint Presentation:

At this point, the student has two online payment options: Check out with PayPal or Pay by Credit Card. If the student or the student’s parents have a PayPal account, they may choose to pay for the exams from this account, in which case they will be redirected to PayPal’s secure site to complete the transaction. Choosing the Pay by Credit Card option brings up the credit card information screen.

PowerPoint Presentation:

If Faster High School would have chosen Option 3 as their online payment option, the students would pay a per exam service fee of $4.10. In this example, the student’s Total Amount Due would be $192.30. See Excel Registration’s fee scale for more information. Service fees appear on this page. Faster High School has chosen to encourage students to pay for exams online and has therefore chosen Option 2 as their online payment option (see Presentation 3 for more details about payment options).

PowerPoint Presentation:

Once the Submit button is hit on the Pay by Credit Card page for from a PayPal account, the student receives an itemized, paid invoice and: The student is automatically marked paid in the registration database Exam rosters and email lists are automatically updated in the registration database The student has completed the third and final step of the registration process (exam payment).

PowerPoint Presentation:

Should it be necessary, the student may create another order for additional exams by accessing the Order Exam link and going through the process previously illustrated. Now, clicking on the My Exams link will a list of exams and associated information for those exams for which the student has paid.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Here is the exam list, associated details, and payment information shown via the My Exams link from the Student Exam Information page. Just a reminder: When a student pays online …their payment status is automatically updated to paid …their contact information is automatically populated to exam rosters, reports, and email lists according to their newly updated paid status …there are no manual entry tasks for the exam coordinator to perform! So, what are the manual entry tasks required of the exam coordinator when a student has to, or chooses to pay in person? That question will be answered by starting at the student control panel again, using the current student as an example.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Once payment is made for the initial order, all links are now reactivated. Our sample student may now place an additional order, if needed. Our sample student needs to order one more exam. However, this time order will be paid for with cash, in person.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Calculus AB is being added to the list of the exams our sample student will take. Since the students previous order was paid for online (and marked paid in the system), the student must now create a separate, new order. Choosing Pay in Person enables to student to render a voucher that can be taken to the exam coordinator along with the cash payment.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Notice that both of the students orders (all of the student’s exams) appear on a single invoice. The first portion shows the previously paid order. The second portion shows the pending order which must be paid for in order for the student’s information to populate to the appropriate rosters, reports, and email lists.

PowerPoint Presentation:

When the student presents payment for the additional order, the coordinator will bring up the Record/Update Payment screen to access the students pending order (#1539). Clicking the order number brings up the payment entry screen.

PowerPoint Presentation:

Entering the appropriate information and clicking UPDATE renders this order paid .

PowerPoint Presentation:

Once updated, the printable receipt can be produced and duplicated for the student and for the coordinator’s records. Once this process has been completed, the student’s …payment status is automatically updated to paid …contact information is automatically populated to exam rosters, reports, and email lists according to their newly updated paid status

PowerPoint Presentation:

When the student returns to the My Exams link from their Exam Information panel, the paid status and details for both orders has been updated.
